We invite you to join the first iteration of the Living/Dying Project Book Club, where we’ll gather in community to explore texts that illuminate the path of conscious living and dying.
Our first reaching is Old Age, a text on aging wisely, by the Jungian analyst, Helen M. Luke, who reflects on life’s final journeys described in Homer’s The Odyssey, Shakespeare’s King Lear, and T. S. Eliot’s Little Gidding.
Through these late-life works of Homer, Shakespeare, and Eliot, she reveals aging not as decline, but as a sacred passage of release and deepening insight. In Shakespeare's words, the old become “God’s spies,” called to seek the mystery in all things.
Together, we’ll read and discuss Old Age through the lens of our own lives and the ultimate transition we each face.
